got a Schroeder housing already. is this Excellement actually a filter element for it, or is it a whole filter assembly

In plain terms, the Schroeder Excellement is the replaceable hydraulic filter element that goes inside a Schroeder filter housing. It is not a complete filter housing or an assembled filter unit by itself.
