Product Questions & Answers

got a 2 inch suction line on a transfer pump, will this hose handle petroleum and gas without falling apart
Question by: Glen P on Jun 27, 2025, 9:46 AM
For suction and transfer work, it’s meant for petroleum hydraulic fluids, fuel, gasoline, and lubricating oils, along with air and water. It’s an SAE 100R4 wire inserted suction hose with a synthetic rubber tube and cover, so it’s built around those kinds of fluids.

got a 2-inch suction line on a petroleum transfer setup and need to know if this hose can handle the temps we're running, anywhere from real cold winters down to maybe negative 30 or so up to around 250 degrees in the summer heat near the pump
Question by: Glen H on Mar 31, 2025, 7:24 AM
That range fits well within what this hose is rated for. The temperature limits run from -40°F on the cold end up to 275°F on the high end, so your operating conditions fall inside those boundaries on both sides. It's built with a synthetic rubber inner tube and a synthetic rubber cover, which hold up across that kind of spread without getting brittle in the cold or breaking down in the heat near pump equipment.

What kind of stuff can I pump through this hose? I'm mainly dealing with hydraulic oil, but sometimes it's gotta handle gasoline too.
Question by: Ricky G on Dec 7, 2025, 3:37 PM
This hose is designed for suction and transfer of petroleum-based hydraulic fluids, fuel, lubricating oils, gasoline, water, and various other industrial fluids. Just be sure to follow the general guidelines for selection, installation, and maintenance to keep everything running smoothly.

running a 2-inch suction line on a hydraulic system pulling petroleum fluid, will this hose hold up to that, and what's the pressure limit I need to stay under?
Question by: Todd H on Oct 2, 2025, 7:55 AM
For petroleum-based hydraulic fluid in a suction setup, this hose is built exactly for that kind of work. The inner tube is synthetic rubber and handles petroleum hydraulic fluids, lubricating oils, and fuel without issue. Pressure-wise, you're capped at 100 PSI, so as long as your system stays within that, you're in good shape. The helical wire reinforcement between the two textile braids keeps the hose from collapsing under suction, which is the real concern in these applications.

Is this hose good for gasoline transfer, or just hydraulic fluid?
Question by: Ross H on Mar 10, 2026, 7:45 PM
This hose works with gasoline, hydraulic fluids, lubricating oils, fuel, water, and other industrial fluids.
