what kind of hydraulic fluid does this motor take, and is there anything special about the filtration it needs?

Premium quality anti-wear type hydraulic fluid is what you want to run in it. Viscosity should be around 70 SUS at operating temperature. On the filtration side, ISO Cleanliness Code level 18/13 is the recommended spec. Keeping the fluid clean at that level goes a long way toward protecting the internal components and getting the most life out of the motor.
