got a system that needs the relief set around 1500 psi. does this one come that way or am i startin from scratch?

Setpoint-wise, it ships set at 1500 PSI and you can adjust it with the screw adjuster anywhere in the 250 to 3500 PSI range.

This valve has two ports. It's designed as a screw-in cartridge, so keep that in mind for your installation.

Adjustment runs from 250 to 3500 PSI, and it uses a screw adjustment. This particular version is set at 1500 PSI out of the box, then you fine tune it by turning the adjustment screw to the pressure you need.

Running this on a refuse hauler that's been giving us fits with pressure spikes. What's the actual pressure range on this thing, and is 3500 PSI the hard ceiling or is there some headroom built in?

The adjustable range runs from 250 to 3500 PSI, and it ships preset at 1500 PSI from the factory. That 3500 PSI figure is the top of the adjustment range for the relief cartridge itself. Worth noting that all ports except port T are rated for up to 3000 PSI operating pressure, so keep that in mind when you're routing your hydraulic connections. The screw adjustment gives you fine control across that whole range, which makes dialing it in for a specific circuit a lot more manageable than dealing with a fixed-setting unit.
