Four inches puts you right in the working range for this cylinder. It needs between 3.5 and 5 inches of clearance to operate, so you're cutting it close but it should fit. At 10 tons of rated capacity and a 2.24 square inch effective area running at 10,000 PSI, it'll have plenty of force for most press work in that kind of tight space. The grooved top on the piston also helps keep your workpiece from walking around on you, which matters when you don't have a lot of room to work with.

For confined setups, it’s meant to work in spaces that only have about 3.5 inches up to roughly 11.2 inches of clearance, depending on where you are in the stroke.
