Wondering if this cylinder would be suitable for some light lifting work on a car frame? Just need a little nudge.

This low height cylinder works great where you need a strong, compact solution. With a 32.4 ton capacity, it should provide plenty of force for adjustments on a car frame, but keep in mind the stroke is only .63 inches.

got a spot where clearance is real tight, maybe an inch and a half of vertical room. think this flat-jac would actually fit in there and still do the job?

Low-profile cylinders like this one are built exactly for that kind of situation. The RSM300 sits at a very compact height, and with only a .63 inch stroke, it's not trying to travel far, it's applying force in a confined footprint. Whether it fits your exact clearance depends on the collapsed height of the unit, but the whole point of the Flat-Jac design is to get serious tonnage into spaces where a standard cylinder won't go. At 32.4 tons of capacity, it's not giving up any muscle just because it's short.
