trying to replace a little retaining ring on an Adaptall fitting, is this the one for G 1/8 - 28 or am i off?

The key callout on this ring is G 1/8 - 28 with a 1/8 inch size, and it is a BSPP retaining ring made for use with Adaptall fittings.

Built for a G 1/8 - 28 connection, which is a 1/8" BSPP thread size. If that matches what you've got on your Adaptall fitting, you're good to go.
