does this element actually fit the ZT8 housing or do I need to double check sizing before I order

Fits right into ZT8 Series housings, that's what it's built for. The element runs 8 inches long and uses Buna-N seals, so as long as you're running a ZT8 housing, you're good to go with this one.

So this is just the filter element itself, right? Not the whole housing?

That's correct, this is the replacement filter element specifically for ZT8 Series housings.

got a ZT8 housing on my unit, is this the right element for it or am I lookin at the wrong one
