Constructed from PVC, this discharge hose is a reliable choice for moving water and other fluids.

what exactly makes this a "discharge" hose vs a regular pvc hose, is there a practical difference i should know about
Question by: Freddie C on May 4, 2025, 8:08 PM
Discharge hoses are built to push fluid away from a pump rather than pull it in. The wall construction handles outward pressure rather than the vacuum stress that suction hoses deal with. For moving water, slurry, or similar materials away from a pump outlet, a discharge hose is the right call. Using a suction hose in reverse or a generic PVC hose in its place can lead to kinking or collapse under flow conditions.

i keep seeing “brick” on this hose, is that the color or some kinda style?

Brick refers to the red color on this PVC discharge hose. It’s a 4 inch discharge hose in that red brick finish.
