got a Permco 5000 pump apart on the bench, is this gear and shaft assembly meant to be a direct replacement part?

Both numbers get you to the same part. RC-0024L-3-25 is the primary supplier part number, and C1DJ74 is a recognized alternate. Either one can be used to confirm you're ordering the right gear and shaft assembly. That said, Permco 5000 series pumps can vary by configuration, so it's worth cross-referencing the build specs on your existing unit before pulling the trigger on the order.
