Is this gear and shaft built to the same specs as what came out of the pump originally, or is it more of a generic aftermarket deal?

Manufactured to OEM specifications, so it matches what the original equipment called for rather than being a generic approximation. It's a Permco branded replacement part, which means it's built to the same tolerances the 5000 series pump was designed around.
