Does this fitting need any thread sealant or extra hardware to get it installed right?

Nothing extra is needed. The non-adjustable end on this fitting is built to go in clean without thread sealant or any calibrated adjustments. Just make sure your line and port are in good shape and it should seat up without fuss.
