Product Questions & Answers

reckon this ps series switch can handle pressures up around 2500 psi or so without issues
Question by: Bobby F on May 29, 2025, 3:51 PM
It adjusts between 500 and 3000 PSI, so yeah, 2500 falls right in that range, and the reset differential runs from 50 to 150 PSI to keep things stable.

what's the reset pressure differential on this thing, can't quite tell from the specs
Question by: Larry M on Sep 18, 2025, 8:14 PM
Reset pressure differential runs between 50 and 150 PSI on this PS series switch. Once it trips at your set pressure somewhere in that 500-3000 PSI range, the pressure has to drop by that 50-150 PSI amount before the switch resets and allows the system to build pressure again.

What Is a Single-Pressure Switch and How Is It Used?

A single pressure switch monitors system pressure and activates or interrupts an electrical circuit when a preset pressure level is reached. It is commonly used in hydraulic and industrial systems for equipment protection, pressure-based control, and process automation where a single, reliable pressure setpoint is required.

When Is a Single Pressure Switch Preferred Over More Complex Pressure Controls?

Single pressure switches are typically selected when an application requires dependable on/off pressure control without the added complexity of multi-stage or electronic control devices. They are well suited for systems that prioritize durability, simplicity, and repeatable performance over advanced modulation.

How Does an Adjustable Pressure Switch Support System Setup?

An adjustable pressure switch allows technicians to fine-tune the activation pressure during installation or commissioning. This flexibility helps optimize system performance without changing hardware, adding external controls, or reconfiguring electrical components.

How Does Stable Switching Performance Benefit Hydraulic Systems?

Consistent switching behavior helps reduce nuisance cycling, limits unnecessary wear on connected components, and supports predictable system operation over time. This is especially important in hydraulic pressure control applications where normal pressure variation is expected during operation.

How Can I Confirm This PS Series Pressure Switch Is Right for My Application?

Confirming suitability involves reviewing the required pressure range, electrical ratings, and operating conditions. If questions arise, HSC application support is available to help verify the PS Series Single Pressure Switch before ordering.
