Liquid-filled gauges use glycerin or a similar fluid inside the case to dampen needle vibration and protect the internal mechanism from pressure spikes. At 6000 PSI, you get a lot of system stress, and that fill keeps the movement from bouncing around so your readings stay steady. It also helps with condensation on the lens, which matters when temps shift during operation.
