Reckon this'll hook up okay to a standard 2-inch fitting?

These polypropylene cam and groove adapters are designed to interchange with any fitting made to MIL-C-27487F and DIN282 standards. Just keep in mind that the 1/2" and 8" sizes sometimes don't play well with other brands.

got a 2 inch hose, is this the right camlock piece to shove in the end of it?

For a 2 inch hose, this is the male cam and groove adapter with a 2 inch hose shank, so it is meant to insert into the hose end and clamp or crimp on the shank side.
