Will this meter hold up if it's constantly running in a hydraulic system?

You can mount this flow meter in any position. The outer housing also rotates 360 degrees to make it easy to read no matter how it's installed.

got a 1/2 npt line on a hydraulic power unit, is this meter gonna thread right in and which way does the oil need to flow

It uses 1/2-14 NPT ports so it matches standard 1/2 NPT hydraulic lines. Flow direction matters on the standard model since it measures in one direction only, and standard models do not tolerate reverse flow.
