does this hook up to standard air fittings or do I need something special for the port size?

The port on this coupler is 1/4 inch female NPT, which is one of the most common thread sizes you'll run into on air tools and compressor lines. No thread sealant is required to make a solid connection, so it should drop right in without a lot of fuss.
