Product Questions & Answers

i’m trying not to overdo it, what’s the top pressure this P55 hand pump will put out?
Question by: Larry B on Aug 31, 2025, 5:19 PM
Max pressure on the P55 is 10,000 PSI, and the fill cap seal is built to act like a safety valve to help prevent over-pressurizing the reservoir.

pump came with fluid already or do I need to source that separate before using it
Question by: Jerry S on Jun 17, 2025, 11:22 AM
Standard hydraulic fluid is included with the pump, so you can get up and running without tracking down fluid beforehand. That said, once you top it off over time, any standard type hydraulic fluid will do for refills.

Question by: Diane P on Jun 5, 2025, 11:14 AM

got a single-acting cylinder i run in the shop. is this P55 pump the right kind for that, or is it meant for something else
Question by: Daryl W on Mar 9, 2026, 9:12 PM
For single acting cylinders, the P55 is a match. It is a single speed, single acting hand pump with an outlet port, and it is called out as “for use with” single acting cylinders.

pump's rated up to 10,000 psi but what's the handle effort actually feel like on this thing? 145 lbs seems like a lot to be pumping all day.
Question by: Lyle H on Sep 30, 2025, 9:13 AM
At max pressure you're working against that 145 lb handle effort, which is pretty much the upper end of what a single-acting hand pump like this will ask of you. That said, most operators aren't running it at full rated pressure the whole time. Early in the stroke, when pressure is building, it moves a lot easier. That peak effort only really hits when you're approaching max load. For occasional use on cylinders it's workable. For hours of continuous pumping at high pressure, it's a two-hands-on-the-handle kind of job.
