got a zerk that’s 1/4-28 and straight, is this the right replacement or am i mixing up sizes

How do I tell if this is the stainless version and not the monel one when it shows up?

Two notches on the hex is your indicator. Stainless models carry that two-notch mark, while monel versions have just one notch and a -B in the part number. This one has a -S suffix, so you're looking at 303 stainless steel body, 440 stainless balls, and 302 stainless tempered springs all the way through.
