got a pressure washer that's got a 3/8 NPT male fitting on the gun side, will this coupler thread right onto that without needing an adapter?

That setup should work without any adapter. The coupler carries a 3/8-18 male NPT thread, so it'll mate directly to a female NPT port of the same size. Just make sure your existing fitting is female NPT and you're good to go.
