Does this adapter need any thread tape or sealant when you put it on, or does it come ready to go?

No sealant needed on this one. It ships with a seal washer already included, so once you thread the male BSPP end into your fitting and connect the female NPT side, that washer handles the sealing for you. Keeps the install pretty straightforward.
