Product Questions & Answers

Is this here fitting gonna work with my brake lines? Just need somethin' that'll hold tight and not leak.
Question by: Danny J on Jun 6, 2025, 1:08 PM
Designed for hydraulic and fluid transfer lines, this Brakequip fitting uses an NPTF (National Pipe Taper Fuel) thread which creates a secure, dry-seal mechanical fit. That reduces the chance of leaks in demanding applications.

Does the NPTF thread on this fitting mean I don't need to mess with pipe dope or teflon tape to get a good seal?
Question by: Rick M on Jul 7, 2025, 5:47 PM
NPTF threads are built to create a dry-seal mechanical fit, meaning the threads themselves mate tightly enough to resist leakage without relying on sealants. That said, some assemblers still apply a light thread sealant out of habit or for added assurance in higher-demand situations. The thread form itself is engineered to handle the sealing load on its own.

got a brake line setup that calls for a 1/8-27 NPTF male, is that what this fitting actually is?
Question by: Warren K on Sep 17, 2025, 9:27 PM
For a 1/8 x 27 NPTF male port connection, this is the right thread callout. It is a male threaded fitting with a 1/8-27 NPTF thread form, which is the National Pipe Taper Fuel dry seal style.
