Motor says 230/460 on it, does that mean I can wire it either way depending on what voltage I got available at the machine?

that dual voltage setup gives you options. You can wire it for 230 volt service or 460 volt service depending on what your panel is running. That kind of flexibility is real handy when you're dropping a motor into an existing setup and don't want to mess with rewiring the whole works.
