What kind of hydraulic fluid should I be using in this valve?

Recommended filtration should meet ISO 4406 Cleanliness Level 18/16/13 for pressures up to 3000 PSI, and Level 17/15/12 for pressures above 3000 PSI.

what's the max pressure this valve can handle at the tank port? running a high cycle press application and can't afford to get that wrong

At the tank port, this particular valve is rated for 3000 PSI. That's the High Performance rating, which is what this model carries. Ports P, A, and B go up to 5000 PSI, but keep in mind that anything above 3000 PSI at those ports requires a steel subplate or manifold, not gray iron. For a press application, that subplate material detail is worth double-checking before you bolt anything down.
