got a 3/4 pipe port i need to cap off, is this the right kind of plug for that

fitting says it's threaded to american briggs standard - does that mean it'll work with standard NPT pipe threads on my existing system?

American Briggs Standard and NPT are the same thread specification, just different names for it. So yes, this 3/4 inch plug will thread right into any standard NPT female fitting or port without any adapter or modification needed. The chamfered opening also helps it start threading cleanly, which cuts down on cross-threading during install.
