got a little 1/8 pipe port i need to cap off, is this the right kind of plug for that

For sealing off a 1/8 inch pipe-thread opening, this square head plug is made for that job. It uses American Briggs Standard pipe threads for a secure fit, and the opening is chamfered to help it start and assemble easier.

Correct, the threads are cut to the American Briggs Standard for pipe threads, so it'll mate up with standard NPT pipe fittings without any issues. The 1/8 inch size is a pretty common starting point in a lot of hydraulic and pneumatic line assemblies, so finding compatible fittings on either end shouldn't be a problem.
