what thread standard do these 1-1/4 plugs use. gotta make sure they match up before I order

American Briggs Standard pipe threads are cut into these fittings. The manufacturer also chamfers them to make your assembly go a lot smoother.

Threading follows the American Briggs Standard for pipe threads, so it is meant to match standard pipe thread connections in that 1-1/4 size.

Does this plug come ready to install or do I need to add thread sealant before putting it in?

No sealant is included or pre-applied, so you'll want to add your own tape or compound before threading it in. The plug itself is chamfered at the opening, which makes getting it started on the threads pretty straightforward. Just make sure your sealant choice is compatible with whatever's running through that line.
