threading on this one, is it American standard pipe thread or something different?

American Briggs Standard threading is what you get on both ends of this fitting. That's the same as NPT-style pipe thread used across most industrial hydraulic connections setups in the U.S., so it'll mate up with standard pipe and fittings without any adapter gymnastics. The openings are also chamfered, which makes getting everything lined up and started a good bit easier during assembly.
