i’ve got a 3 inch line but need to step it down to 1-1/2. is this the right bushing for that?

Does this bushing thread up to standard pipe fittings, or is it some kind of proprietary thread?

Threaded to the American Briggs Standard for pipe threads, so it'll mate up with standard fittings without any issue. That's the same thread spec used across the vast majority of industrial and commercial pipe systems, so compatibility with standard components is solid.
