what's the thread standard on this bushing? got a fitting i need to match up and want to make sure it ain't some off-brand spec

Threaded to the American Briggs Standard for pipe threads, so it'll match up with standard NPT pipe fittings used across most common hydraulic connections and hydraulic applications. That's the widely accepted thread spec for pipe fittings in the U.S., so compatibility with standard fittings generally isn't a concern.

got a 1-1/4 inch female line but i need to step it down to 1/4. is this the right bushing for that?

Use-case wise, this hex bushing is meant to reduce a 1-1/4 inch threaded opening down to a 1/4 inch threaded opening, so it fits the step-down you’re describing.
