Got a 1-1/2 inch female port I need to step down to a 1-1/4 inch male connection. This the right bushing for that?

That's what this fitting is built for. The hex bushing has a 1-1/2 inch female end and a 1-1/4 inch male end, so it'll reduce that port right down where you need it.
