Is this fitting okay for, like, regular hydraulic stuff, or is it just for certain jobs?

It's suitable for general-purpose low and medium-pressure hydraulic applications. Just keep in mind that for situations where there might be shock hazards, you'd be better off using H277 or H435 hoses instead.
