pump says CW rotation on the shaft, is that fixed or can it be switched around depending on how we're setting it up?

Clockwise is the only rotation this pump is built for. There's no field-reversible option listed for this unit, so your drive arrangement needs to match CW from the outset. If your setup runs the shaft the other direction, you'd be looking at a different model entirely.
