got a hose that measures about 3-1/2 inch on the outside, will this clamp grab it right?

Fit comes down to the hose outside diameter. This clamp is made for an OD range of 3-5/16 inch up to 3-5/8 inch, so a 3-1/2 inch OD hose falls inside the adjustment window.
