got a 1.57 inch inside diameter line im trying to clean, is the UC40 the right size projectile or am i off?

For a 1.57 inch I.D., the UC40 matches up with an I.D. spec of 1.5748 inches, so it’s in the right neighborhood for that size line. The sizing guidance for 2 inches I.D. and under is to run a projectile O.D. about 20 percent larger than the I.D., so the best fit depends on how the projectile size you’re using compares to your actual measured I.D.

how do i know what size projectile to get for my hoses? mine are 1.57 inch ID but i wasn't sure if this one's right or if i need to go bigger

For hose IDs at or under 2 inches, the projectile's outer diameter should run about 20% larger than the inner diameter you're cleaning. This UC40 is sized specifically for a 1.5748-inch ID, so it fits right in that range. If you were working with something over 2 inches, the rule shifts to about 10% larger. One thing worth knowing: if the projectile won't leave the nozzle, it's too big, and if it passes through without doing much, it's too small. Should one ever get stuck, shoot a discharge from the opposite end to push it back out.
