trying to clean out some 5/8 inside diameter hydraulic hose. what is the rule of thumb for sizing these things so they actually scrub the walls?
Question by: Brent P on Aug 21, 2025, 12:40 PM
Getting the right fit relies on a simple calculation. For any line with an inside diameter of 2 inches or less, the outside diameter of the projectile needs to be approximately 20 percent larger than the hose inside diameter. The extra size gives the plug enough compression to wipe the inside walls effectively as it travels.

Will these projectiles work in different size hoses?
Question by: Neil P on Mar 27, 2025, 12:43 PM
These projectiles are designed for a 0.87 inch inner diameter hose. You'll want to match the projectile size to your hose ID for best cleaning.

i’ve got hose that measures right at 0.87 on the inside, is UC22 the right cleaning “slug” for that size?
Question by: Keith S on Jan 8, 2026, 6:58 PM
For a hose or tube with about a 0.87 inch inside diameter, the UC22 projectile matches that target size, with a listed I.D. of 0.8661 inch. It is also called out for use with a 5/8 inch hose I.D. nozzle and a tube or pipe OD noted as H16.

these come in packs of 100, right? just want to make sure before i order cause we go through em pretty quick on the food processing lines
Question by: Ralph S on Apr 15, 2025, 6:26 PM
the UC22 projectiles come 100 per package. For high-volume cleaning use like food and beverage lines, that quantity tends to work out well since you'll be running these regularly to keep things flushed and flowing.
