I need a quick disconnect for hydraulic tools, somethin' that won't corrode. Will this stainless steel one hold up okay?
Question by: Hugh B on Mar 24, 2026, 8:10 AM
Stainless steel makes this quick disconnect coupling a good choice when you need something that can handle corrosive fluids or work in harsh environments without rusting.

seal material on this one, is buna-n gonna hold up runnin hydraulic fluid in a shop environment, or do I need to spec something different?
Question by: Phil M on Nov 14, 2025, 1:19 PM
Buna-N handles most standard hydraulic fluids just fine and is rated from -40°F up to +250°F, so for typical shop use you're well within range. If your fluid runs hotter than that or you're working with something more aggressive like certain chemicals or fuels, Neoprene and Viton options are available for this coupling. Viton in particular extends the upper temperature limit all the way to +400°F. For everyday hydraulic oil in a shop setting though, the standard Buna-N seal is going to do the job without issue.
