got a -04 hose with 1/4-18 female npt, is this the right female quick disconnect half for it?

what seal comes standard on this thing, and how hot can it run before it starts givin me trouble?

Buna-N is the standard seal on this coupling, and it holds up from -40 degrees F all the way to 250 degrees F. If your application runs hotter than that, there are other seal options available including PTFE, Neoprene, FKM, EPDM, and Kalrez. FKM handles the widest heat range of the bunch, rated up to 400 degrees F on the high end.

Will this quick disconnect work with different types of hydraulic fluids or just the standard stuff?

This coupling is made with brass and stainless steel springs to handle a wide range of fluids. The standard Buna-N seal works for many applications, but you can also get it with PTFE, Neoprene, FKM, EPDM, or Kalrez seals if you need something different.
