what seal material comes standard on this coupling, and how hot can it run before I oughta start worrying?

Buna-N is the standard seal material on this coupling. It handles temperatures from -40 degrees F up to 250 degrees F, which covers the vast majority of hydraulic work in agriculture, construction, and general shop use. If your application runs hotter than that, seal upgrades are available in Neoprene, EPDM, FKM, and Kalrez, with FKM being the top end at up to 400 degrees F.
