hose is orange, is that just for looks or does it actually mean something for how its used on the job?

Orange on this hose is intentional and functional. Non-conductive hoses are colored orange specifically so workers and equipment operators can quickly identify them as electrically isolated lines. need a hose that won’t carry stray voltage, is this one actually non-conductive or is that just the jacket color

For electrical isolation, this hose is rated as non-conductive with a leakage factor under 50 microamperes, which is considered a safe level by SAE standards. The orange polyurethane cover is there to help you quickly spot it as the non-conductive style, and the cover is non-perforated to keep moisture from getting in and changing conductivity.
