Reckon this'll hold up alright coupling a hydraulic pump to a motor, or is it more for lighter duty stuff?

It's typically used to couple hydraulic pumps to electric motors, and should do the job well. Just be sure you aren't exceeding the maximum angular offset of 1 degree or a parallel offset of 0.015 inches.
