hose says it handles gasoline and water both, that right? trying to figure out if I can run it on a piece of equipment that switches between fluids depending on the job

Correct on both counts. The application list for this hose covers petroleum fuels, lubricating oils, gasoline, water, and phosphate ester base hydraulic fluids.
