Product Questions & Answers

got a brake line with a metric male end, is this the right female thread for it?
Question by: Lee T on Mar 14, 2026, 11:19 AM
The key is the thread spec. This fitting is a female M10x1, meaning a 10 mm metric thread with a 1 mm pitch, so it matches a male M10x1 on the other side.

M10x1 female fitting, that's metric right? Just want to make sure it ain't gonna thread onto standard SAE brake line fittings before I go putting it in.
Question by: Janet Y on Apr 30, 2025, 1:23 PM
Correct, the M10x1 is a metric thread, 10mm diameter with a 1mm pitch. It will only mate properly with a corresponding metric male fitting using that same thread spec. SAE threads run on a different standard entirely, so mixing the two won't work and could cause leaks or damage. Make sure the male side of your connection is also M10x1 metric before installing.

Will this here fitting work with any ole M10x1 male fitting?
Question by: Ralph S on May 22, 2025, 10:53 AM
This Brakequip fitting is designed to work with any corresponding male fitting that meets the M10x1 metric thread standard. As long as the male fitting is also M10x1, you should be good to go for hydraulic and brake line connections.
