fitting says "2 flats" on it, what does that mean exactly, is that just how you wrench it down?
Question by: Brett D on Sep 28, 2025, 8:46 PM
Two flats means the fitting has two parallel flat sides machined into it, which is what lets you grip it with a standard open-end or box wrench. Without flats, you'd have nothing to get a wrench on for tightening. It's a pretty common design on fittings like this one, keeps installation clean and straightforward without needing any specialty tools.
