Banjo fittings use a hollow bolt that passes through a looped end on the hose, letting fluid flow through the center of the bolt itself. That setup lets the hose sit at a wide angle or flush against a surface instead of sticking straight out. In tight spots like wheel cylinders or calipers where a straight fitting just won't clear the surrounding hardware, the banjo style gives you the geometry you need without fighting the installation.
