Water glycol fluids are compatible with this filter when paired with the standard Buna-N seals it comes with. Same goes for oil-in-water and water-in-oil fluids. The one exception to watch for is synthetic fluids, those require upgrading to Viton seals, which are available as an option. Stick with petroleum-based or water-mix fluids and the standard configuration handles it fine.

In a return line where space is at a premium, the in-tank layout helps keep the assembly compact and cuts down on potential external leak points since more of the filter is contained in the reservoir.
