Does this fitting have any kind of check valve built in, or is it straight through?

No check valve on this one. It's a straight male swivel nut, part number HF17 from Brakequip, and the connection is exactly what it looks like. No check valve, no color coding, nothing adjustable on the end. What you get is a solid mechanical fitting built to make a secure, fixed connection where you need it.
