Product Questions & Answers

what kinda temps can this motor run at all day without hurting anything. we got fluid viscosity sitting around 90 ssu normally.
Question by: Dwight M on Jun 11, 2025, 1:34 PM
Normal continuous operation caps at 180 degrees Fahrenheit for this hydrostatic motor. Hitting up to 220 degrees is fine for maximum intermittent limits. Your 90 SSU fluid viscosity falls right into the optimum operating range of 80 to 180 SSU.

got a machine that takes an SAE C 4-bolt flange, will this motor bolt right up and what kind of shaft is on it
Question by: Wes B on Apr 3, 2025, 7:35 AM
It uses an SAE C 4-bolt mounting flange and a 14-tooth SAE C splined shaft. Porting is 1 inch Code 61, so those are the key interface points to match up on your machine.

got a machine running a Series 1 pump already, will this motor hold up running continuous at high pressure, or is there a ceiling I need to stay under?
Question by: Kirk J on Dec 28, 2025, 1:01 PM
For continuous operation, keep system pressure at or below 5000 PSI, which is where the high pressure relief is set on this unit. The motor itself carries a 6000 PSI pressure rating, but that upper range is meant for brief spikes only, peak pressure should stay under one percent of total operating time. Normal continuous temperature limit is 180 degrees F, with 220 degrees F allowed only on a short-term intermittent basis. Stay within those bands and the 10,000-hour B10 bearing design life holds up well under sustained load.

got a motor with SAE C 4-bolt mount and a 14T SAE C spline, is this the right one to swap in?
Question by: Shawn R on Sep 25, 2025, 6:16 AM
The hard match points on this unit are SAE C 4-bolt mounting, a 14T SAE C splined shaft, and 1 inch Code 61 ports. It is a fixed-displacement heavy duty hydrostatic motor at 3.89 cu in per rev, with 5000 PSI high pressure reliefs and a 4160 RPM speed rating.
