trying to hook a hydrant up to a npt pipe run, is this the right adapter?

For that kind of hookup, it converts a 2 1/2 inch female NST connection over to a 2 1/2 inch male NPT connection, so it bridges a hydrant style NST thread to an NPT threaded pipe side.

Both ends are 2 1/2 inch, so sizing is consistent throughout. One end is female NST, which matches the standard National Standard Thread you find on fire hydrant outlets. The other end is male NPT, so it threads into standard pipe fittings on the receiving side. Whole thing is brass, so it holds up well and gives you a solid, leak-resistant connection at the joint.
