Does this fitting need any special kind of wrench to tighten it down, or will a regular one work?

For tightening, a standard wrench should work just fine on this fitting. The C hex size is 0.625 inches, and the Jj flats measure 0.750 inches, so make sure your wrench fits those dimensions.
